2016 COBA Major League Divisional Preview Articles Now Posted


In what has become a yearly tradition, the COBA Major League preview artciles will once again be posted again this year. These articles are meant to take a peek at each of the 8 teams participating in the COBA Major Baseball League this summer.

This week will we be having a look at the four teams that make up the Andrews Division. These teams include: Mississauga SW Twins, Etobicoke Rangers, Brampton Royals, and Erindale Cardinals. Next week, we will delve into the four teams in the Johnson Division and take an early season look at those squads. The links for both articles can be found below. Hope everyone enjoys the reading!!

2016 COBA Major League Andrews Division Season Preview


COBA Major Baseball League 2015 Hall of Fame Class Permanently Enshrined


After adding no memebers to its hall of fame in 2014, the COBA Major League honored 7 individuals at last year’s awards dinner in Burlington with their induction into the hall.

These individuals are: Kevin Breitner (RHP, Etobicoke Rangers), AJ Iafrate (1B/DH, Etobicoke Rangers), Tim Gasparotto (LHP/MGR, Erindale Cardinals), Kevin Lee (1B/DH, Oakville A’s), Marc Walton (RHP/3B, Oakville A’s), Andrew Sorochan (1B/OF/DH, St. Catharines/Niagara Metros), and Brad Brewster (2B/Umpire, Burlington Brants).

These individuals, along with all of the other COBA Major League Hall of Famers can be found by pressing the Hall of Fame tab at the top of the page. Congrats to each of these guys on this great distinction.


COBA Major League Announces 2016 League Schedule


The COBA Major League is proud to unveil its regular season schedule for the 2016 season. The schedule can be found under the schedule tab located at the top of the page. The schedule, which was completed by league schedule guru Mark Walters, was released and voted in unanimously by the managers at the March managers meeting in Burlington.

The schedule features a 28-game balanced regular season schedule for each of the 8 league teams which will see each team play against each other four times (2 home & 2 away games). The divisional alignment will remain the same this season which includes the: Erindale Cardinals, Brampton Royals, Mississauga SW Twins, and Etobicoke Rangers in the Andrews Division and the Burlington Brants, Milton Red Sox, Niagara Metros and Oakville A’s will make up the Johnson Division.

Along with the regular season, the scheudle also features numerous tournmaments that COBA Major clubs will take part in around the province including the:
-Vaughan Vikings Invitational Tournament (June 17th -19th)
-London/Lakeside Invitation Tournament (July 1st – 3rd)
-Hap Walters Memorial Invitational Tournament (July 15th – 17th) – Hosted by the COBA Major League
-Senior Provincial Elimination Tournament (July 29th – August 1st) in Windsor, ON

The COBA Major season will wrap up, as always, with their league playoff tournaments. The first tournament will run on the August 20th & 21st weekend while the second tournament will run the following weekend on August 27th & 28th. Both playoff tournaments will take place at the Milton Sports Complex. In a new addition to the schedule this year, the COBA Major Playoff Champion will advance on to play against the Playoff Champion from the Greater Toronto Baseball League (GTBL) at a date and time to be determined later between the two teams.

The schedule opens up on Friday, May 6th when the Erindale Cardinals will travel to Connorvale Park to take on the Etobicoke Rangers in a scheduled 7:45pm start!
